Three Local Schools in the Running for Top Prize in National Samsung $1M in Tech Supplies Competition Grand Prize Winner to be Named at New York City Event on March 31st

Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope philanthropic initiative, along with football star Eli Manning, will announce the grand prize winning school, from among 21 finalists, in a competition to win a portion of the $1 million in technology supplies from Samsung and partners Best Buy, Microsoft and DIRECTV. More than 200,000 online votes helped choose the best essay, submitted during a call for entries last September, and the grand prize winner will be named at a New York City event on March 31st. The top school will be awarded a prize package worth $210,000 in cutting-edge Samsung products, Microsoft software, DIRECTV educational television programming, cash grants and Best Buy @15 gift cards; 15 First Prize schools will receive similar $50,000 prize packages; and five Second Prize schools will receive $10,000 Best Buy @15 gift cards. In addition, the nominating essayist for each school will receive a Samsung Go™ Netbook for submitting a winning essay.
