Who better than Dan Marino to help children?

Dan Marino is one of the most celebrated athletes in the world. As Quarterback of the Miami Dolphins for 17 consecutive seasons, he held 25 National Football League records at the time of his retirement, including "Most Passes Completed Career" at an astonishing 4,967, "Most Seasons, 3,000 or More Yards Passing" at 13 seasons and "Most Touchdown Passes Career" with 420. Considered the most prolific passer in NFL history, Dan is guaranteed a permanent place in American sports history.

Known for his lightning-quick release and fierce competitiveness on the field, Dan's fan appeal extends the boundaries of football as he's twice appeared on the cover of Gentleman's Quarterly (GQ), in several Blockbusters including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Bad Boys II and on HBO's hit show, ARLI$$. Since retiring in 2000, he has leveraged his sports expertise into a new arena as an in-studio host of CBS' The NFL Today as well as previously co-hosting HBO's Emmy Award winning football show, Inside the NFL.

His ongoing work for children is centered through the Dan Marino Foundation. Close to Dan's heart is the MCH Dan Marino Center, "a one stop" evaluation and treatment center for children with special needs that he and his wife Claire helped build after their son was diagnosed with autism. The Center serves more than 25,000 children annually. In 2006 Dan and his wife founded the Marino Autism Research Institute, bringing leading universities together to accelerate the discovery of new strategies for understanding, treating and preventing autism. March 2008 brought a new level to the Dan Marino Foundation as Dan was appointed Co-Chair to the Task Force on Autism Spectrum Disorders by Florida Governor Charlie Crist.

In 2005, Dan joined an elite group as he was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As only the 28th quarterback, Dan's bust will forever stand with the all time greats of the game in Canton, Ohio.

Dan shares a home in South Florida with wife Claire and their six children.
